Automating AI‑driven sales forecast reports for multi‑product budgeting
Challenge
The customer was preparing their 2026 budgets and needed estimates of how many units they could expect to sell next year. The customer has many different products across multiple markets and wanted the same structured analysis for every product. They had already prompted an AI tool to produce a good report for a single product, but repeating this manually for all products would be time‑consuming and inconsistent.
The customer needed a way to scale the reporting so each product received the same format and depth of analysis. Beyond the analysis, they also needed directional unit estimates per market and simple financials, so commercial and finance teams could compare products side by side during the budgeting process.
Solution
Sensisize built a single, reusable master prompt (at about 7 pages) with five simple placeholders the customer fills for each product (such as product name, retail price and gross profit margin), along with the supplier's product sheet. With these minimal inputs, the AI generates a full report in a consistent format for any product.
Each report includes market analysis for all relevant markets, a competitor analysis where the AI identifies likely competitors on its own, and a list of potential clients with an outreach strategy. The report also produces an estimate of expected units sold per market. While these estimates should be treated with a grain of salt, they provide a useful benchmark for planning. Finally, the report calculates revenue and gross profit automatically from the unit estimates, retail price and margin, so the client does not need to perform separate calculations.
Result
With the master prompt, the customer can now produce a standardized forecast report for each product quickly and with minimal effort, ensuring consistent structure and comparability across the portfolio. The market and competitor insights help teams align on opportunities and risks, and the outreach suggestions give sales a concrete starting point. The AI was even often able to suggest competitors or potential customers that the client had not considered.
